The Shadows of Pines Forest.

 The old village of Winding Pines is located deep within the French forest, where gigantic pines and a dense mist surround the area. Its gravel routes bend through a maze of dark passageways where sounds of speaking appear to come from the forest's deepest shadows. Stories of Celtic gods and old curses are passed down through the years among its people, becoming as much a part of their lives as the roots of the tall trees that surround them. 

 Sergeant Thomas Lacroix, a man haunted by the demons of his past and finding redemption in the quiet of the countryside, enters this dark and strange world. The residents of Peaceful Pines greet him with a mixture of curiosity and warning since they are well aware of the secrets hidden under the surface of their peaceful way of life.

Lacroix soon learns, however, that Peaceful Pines is not what it originally looks. The village is haunted by strange disappearances that leave nothing but a lasting sense of decay and eerie whispering. Without a trace, women disappear into the forest, their screams masked by the surrounding darkness.

Lacroix finds himself attracted to Sarah—a lady with her own troubled past—as he explores the mystery deeper. Together, they discover a complex network of mysterious activities and secret information that has sat centuries under the forest ground.

However, their trip into the depths of darkness is dangerous because Whispering Pines strongly guards its secrets, and those who attempt to learn them run the risk of releasing an impossibly horrific force. Mythical creatures roam the shadows, their eyes sparkling with vengeance on capturing their prey.

In a fight against time to solve the mysteries of Winding Pines, Lacroix and Sarah have to face both the inner demons and the surrounding darkness. Because in a town where the actual world and the nightmare are one and the same, it becomes difficult to differentiate between good and evil, and the true nature of evil is uncovered.

However, hope remains even on the darkest of nights. The darkness can never really dominate as long as there are those prepared to stand up for the light. As the very first lights of daylight peek over the horizon, Whispering Pines appears refreshed when its secrets out for everyone to see. Time will decide, though, if the local population will take hold of its newfound independence or give in to the horror trapped inside.
